[Intro: Anika]
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to "Islands"
[Chorus: The Matrixx]
This is my, crib. Where I'm chilling at. (And you can come over and kick it if you want to)
This is my, spot. Where the women at. (And you can get a couple drinks if you want to)
This is my, land. Where I'm living at. (And you can come and take a visit if you want to.
This is just a glimpse of all the things that I can show you,
And it's just your vision that can limit what you gon do)
This is my, Island.
[Verse 1: The Matrixx]
And I hear you
Whether you on a cruise ship or a yacht with a clear view
All your other troubles fading slowly in your rearview
I try to spell it out but nothing can prepare you
For when you catch your first glimpse
Can't take your eyes off as you walk off the ship
I swear it's like a trip
When you take your first step onto dry land
The whole of nature saying "welcome to my island"
See, sun, sand, blue skies
And a touch of cool breeze to take the edge off the high
Because it's like the temp skyrockets when you exit your home
And we the home of hotness, whether women or flows
You see my island got next so it's better you know
I mean we've weathered hurricanes, we be taking them blows
But we stay steadfast never taking a T.K.O
Ain't over, till we say so
[Chorus]
[Verse 2: Prenda Blaque]
I'm a bring the hammer down if I gotta tell you again
Got a couple things but none of it's here to lend
Everything is fine from my camera to my lens
So bring a couple friends and come and circle my ends now
We winning this hands down
Even if we just come and dance round
We take it all the way up up up up up
And let it trickle down like a ponzi scheme
Just because you don't see us flaunting mean
That the merchandise not oxi-clean
Know what I mean?
And no we don't give um what they want see
To run with the story like Anansi
Tell them mother, brother, sister and them aunty, zeen
This a message for my team
[Verse 3: The Matrixx]
And you should know this verse is just a tribute to the places that I've been to
The faces that I've seen and all the phases that I've been through
But ain't no way that the could ever change or even influence
The reasons why this place remains my fave, it's really simple
It's home, and that means it stays forever in you
No matter where you may go, it makes the journey with you
Even if it's just a visit, it seems crazy because it's true
The love that's on my island, it gets inside your sinews
And you find yourself remembering the way the people give you
A smile, then say hi, then they wave, then it hits you
Life here just ain't the same as where you came from, we tend to
Work all day like the venue then we play like a Nintendo
We be crazy, loving, sensual and we intercontinental
We got out own celebrities and they saga continues
But we always gon get your visit with all of the things that we promoting
Over and over cuz we knew that's why you coming
But you staying for the day and night life
Hit the spot and take a shot to find a dame you might wife
Watch some drummers in a circle, a play you might like
Dancing on the waterfront is just a day in my life
So, I hold her tight like custody
And try to write the kind of lyrics that get ya to see
That we got so much more to offer than just the beaches
Or the seas
It's just a feeling
[Chorus]

[Intro: The Matrixx]
Ey yo Jazzi
I had to do this one cuz you know them times when you just feel like
[Chorus]
Staying at the crib
Chilling with the clique
Keeping it legit
And we do it big
Never stopping
Staying at the crib
Chilling with the clique
Keeping it legit
And doing it big
[Verse 1]
From the time you step inside it's like it's
Different from a club cuz the vibe is nicer
Whenever you come yo the time is right and
If you heard about it you're invited, -vited
To this little shindig run by me and the team
Nothing too classy, nah, we keeping it real
We be taking shots, forget the cuisine
Everybody drove, there's no limousine
So you can't be stush, you need to turn up
If you going be stush don't even turn up
But once you get a shot in ya you will be going further
Like asking everyone for kush for you to burn up
Really doesn't matter, long as you do you
You knew this is something that we ain't knew to
So if you have a few tunes that you wanna move to
Just tell the crew to pull um up on Youtube
[Chorus]x2
When we at the crib (The vibe is nicer)
Chilling with the clique (The vibe is nicer)
Keeping it legit (The vibe is nicer)
And we do it big, never stopping
[Verse 2]
We got the people now, what will be?
Turn the speakers up, rock to the beat
Or we mix it up, swap into teams
Flip some cup you know who you gotta defeat
But even if you lose then you winning
Cuz this right here is a new kinda vision
Chilling with the crew who you knew from the beginning
And a couple fresh faces, you don't know who's with um
But you know that every single one of us
Got something in common cuz
This the kinda of party for
People who be on a run
We work hard every day of the week then
On the weekend, we trading our sleep for
Whatever we into, cuz we passionate too
So when we get a chance we turning up the venue
Even after most people leave what we then do
Move on to round two with a select few
[Chorus]
[Bridge: Prenda Blaque]
My people done hit me on my cell phone twice
Saying that they're putting something strong on ice
And we don't wanna hear no one's advice
Cuz, nobody gonna live our lives
And we've been waiting too long
Just to vibe to two songs
So if you find something wrong
This ain't where you belong
[Outro: The Matrixx]
Because! We nah no time fi pretenders
Just a have fun, no hate on di agenda
Gwan get mad! Buss a wine pon a fender
Then mix a drink, go be your own bartender
Yo! Tomorrow we nah remember
This party, coulda gwan till November
Di vibe nice, as soon as we enter
We nah stop but the song a go end ya

[Intro: The Matrixx]
Based on a true story
[Verse 1]
He opened the hatch, stepped inside, then he took a seat
Rechecked his calibrations then he look at me
He didn't say nothing but he just, gave me a nod
Shut the hatch, flipped the switch and after that he was gone
One, two, the seconds passed by
And I knew something was wrong cuz of him there was no sign
See he shoulda been back almost as soon as he left
That's how we planned it, in every simulation, every test
If everything went how it should he should be able to find
The girl, save her life, then get back inside
But as I sat there waiting that was when I realized
It ain't always that simple when you travel through time
That's when I was almost blinded by a light flash
And the machine reappeared with a slight crash
I rushed over quite fast
Gripped it with a tight grasp
Pulled it open, then put a hand on my mouth to stifle my gasp
[Chorus 1]
Cuz I wasn't prepared to see her sitting there
Looking just as I remembered, minus a couple years
And I remember thinking, as my eyes filled with tears
If times a straight line, maybe it starts here
[Verse 2]
But that feeling didn't last too long and it was partly
The look that she gave me when she saw me, that scarred me
Eyes so wide, sweat running down her face
Hand on her chest, breathing so hard like she was just running a race
And then it clicked, what's missing from the pic
Cuz she was by herself when it was him she should have been with
This wasn't the plan, the fact is their positions were switched
Cuz he was meant to be right back after the issue was fixed
So she could go on living her life never knowing that she would have died
If we didn't intervene, there was no way we wouldn't try
Now she was here and he was... somewhere else
Soon as she calmed down she told me how the story went
Everytime he saved her she would die some other way, like it was meant to be
Like he was fighting fate
Kept going back and trying till he realized that somebody had to take her place
Sent her away
And then he stayed
[Chorus 2]
And I wasn't prepared for what she made me hear
Cuz he had been my homeboy for almost twenty years
And I remember thinking, while feeling the despair
If time's a straight line, maybe it ends here
[Verse 3]
...Nah! I wasn't having that
Couldn't let this be the end, not even if the fact was that
He sacrificed himself for her, see that was unacceptable
That's why I built this time machine, cuz I have trouble letting go
If he could save her, then I could do the same for him
There had to be a loophole, I'd find some other way to win
We were all gonna make it, if there's a shot then I'd take it
And I was not hesitating, didn't give a fuck what was fated
Or meant to be
Even if it even took a century
Had all the time in the world to find a way eventually
I looked at her and thought of everything she said to me
Trying to find a key to the solution, mentally
But then her voice interrupted my thoughts
She said we have to go and get him back no matter the cost
And I looked over at the machine and gave her a nod
And a couple minutes later both of us were gone
[Outro]
And I remember thinking as we rewound the years
Time's not a straight line, that's just how it appears

It's A Lie (Feat. Jus P)

|

[Intro: The Matrixx]
Uh whatever
Whenever
Don't believe a word, cuz
[Chorus]
Whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head in your seat, until they notice you
And if they tell you something bout me, just tell um
Uh whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head move your feet, until they notice you
And when they tell you something bout me (It's a lie)
[Verse 1]
They all liars, unless they told you I spit fire
See I'm kinda like Clark Kent, they assume cuz my attire
That I am, just a mild-mannered type of writer
Who never does it big but just sits at home in silence
When the fact of the matter is, I ain't lacking activities
Get up for Rotaract then come back and compose the illest beat
Next up I'm at the gym, after that I just hit the scene
And bust a dance that I choreographed within a week
My life is a tapestry, all the tasks that I'm packing in'
I'm super-versatile, eclectic and multi-talented
And ultra-humble, nah I never brag or boast
So all they talking makes me wan go off and slit a throat
Except that all that violence kind of out of my element
Instead my eloquence'll shut um down like it's Elements
If they feeling incensed they need to go to the reverend
I'm irreverent but only cuz my verses are heaven sent
So whatever
[Chorus]
Whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head in your seat, until they notice you
And if they tell you something bout me, just be like
Yo whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head move your feet, until they notice you
And when they tell you something bout me (It's a lie)
[Verse 2]
But if they said I'm a nerd, well they're right about that
In spite of the fact, that their girls, wanna ride on my lap
Spend couple hours on a forum, then I sign out of that
So I can get in front the mic and spit inspiring raps
I got, anime on my hard drive, gundams on my dresser
On my shelves? A couple hundred books, it's like whatever
My rooms a pirate's chest full of treasure, and I'm clever
So I ain't got no time for trying to impress ya
Now what you know about rocking comics and model kits?
Killed it in high school, so much I got a scholarship
But I'm never scared to holla at the hottest chicks
I'll take um to the, VIP and we popping another bottle quick
Well maybe that's after I blow up, I'll show up
And stunt on all these niggas that's telling me just to grow up
You know what? That damn advice ain't good for no one
But it's all they know of, so they go on and so on
So whatever
[Chorus]
Whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head in your seat, until they notice you
And if they tell you something bout me, Ey yo Jus P!
Whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head in your seat, until they notice you
And when they tell you something bout me (It's a lie)
[Verse 3: Jus P]
Now sometimes I wonder, would I have had a better life
Exposing my dark thoughts? Would you see me in a better light?
Would you give advice on what you did and what you didn't like?
Or would you sit and sigh at all the plight that I'm imprisoned by?
Now would you question my perception
Give direction strengthening the path that I was destined?
Would you step in with the best intention?
Relieving all the tension of the stress that got me fenced in?
Now pardon me for revealing this weaker part of me
Unless you're targeting me, this part of me is hard to see
I'd be lying if I'm saying what you thought of me didn't bother me
Qualities of a faulty ideology
Honestly, every part of me can feel the heavens calling me
I'm hoping that this evil doesn't swallow me
It's a part of me that only God can see
And if you don't care, my sincere apologies
[Chorus: The Matrixx]
Whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
Cuz I'm on this track with Jus P, and it's overdue
You just nod your head in your seat, until they notice you
And if they tell you something bout me
Ey yo whatever they thought about me, they don't know the truth
I just know I'm rocking this beat, like it's overdue
You just nod your head move your feet, until they notice you
And when they tell you something bout me (It's a lie)

[Intro: The Matrixx]
Trixx!
It feels like
Every single night I be receiving mixed messages
Keep checking the time, you can see what kinda stress I'm in
If you wanna know, well I'll tell you what the lesson is
Tell you bout the rest of it
This is what she said to me
[Chorus: Anika Conolly]
I know that there's a place where
People can live with no fear
And we can make our way there
If you don't ever let go
I know that there's a place where
People can live with no fear
And we can make our way there
If you don't ever let me go
[Verse 1: The Matrixx]
Huh,
That's what she said to me, said to me
Had her legs wide while she spread for me, spread for me
Next thing I know she be ghosting essentially
Have me thinking maybe she pretends to be into me
After seven days and nights like a sermon
Saw her with another guy, she told me it was her man
Then she said "Don't let me go"
I said "Don't let you go? I don't know where to hold"
So I had to make a choice whether this shit was worth it
And, I had to open the curtains
Look into the mirror and see what the truth is
(Yo) Cuz I feel like I'm losing
Her? No, I'm talking bout myself
Swallowed my pride and put my feelings on the shelf
But the time spent was way too short
Say no more, I had to make my retort
I felt no remorse when I had to resort
To all these underhanded tactics and methods
But when I did that, all I was left was stressing
And I guess that is the lesson
I'm on a mission, no time for confessions
Trying to create something timeless and special
Everytime I go back she say we moving forward
So why it feels like regression?
[Chorus: Anika Conolly]
[Bridge: Anika Conolly]
I'm so into you
I'm so into you
Don't let me go
Don't let me, don't let me go
I'm right here now
[Verse 2: The Matrixx]
But really she was just an idea that I once had
I could never let go, cuz she'd always come back
Sleepless nights into days, there were some that
Had me feeling like I was a genius, it wasn't bad
But time passed and I couldn't get past
The very first stages, I'm losing it fast
Couldn't find a way to turn this vague concept into something concrete
Now I'm losing more sleep
Then somebody beat me to it man I saw it at a show
Not quite the same idea but it was so close
So how did they know, I ain't tell no one before
But it was mine first I ain't never letting go
I get tons of ideas and they gone in a flash
And she was just one but the problem was that
If I couldn't make it work after I let the others slip away
It would be a tragedy, so I had to make her stay
[Chorus: Anika Conolly]
[Outro: Anika Conolly]
I know a place, where we can go
Just me and you, just me and you

[Intro: The Matrixx]
The clock is ticking and I'm waiting to finish so I can jet yo
In a couple minutes I'm finna vanish like presto
Hit the speed limit, I'm driven to burn some petrol
Left the side like Esco, this my manifesto
It's after five, let's go!
[Chorus]
Cuz when my work done
I'm like a different person (After five)
I put in work cuz
Send me any track that you packing and I will merk um (After five)
Said when my work done
I'm not the same person (After five)
I put in work cuz
Send me any track you think lacking and I will merk um (After five)
[Verse 1]
And when it's that time, I be way too hype
Of my sense of composure, I may lose sight
It's a full moon right when the waveform spikes
I transform into a monster: Werewolf by Night
Terrorize the village, I'm pillaging, killing every evening
The next day when they see me they still don't know the secret
Of how I beat these beats into defeat then repeat
They be to sweet, It's like a feast, so I eat
I'm shanking these riddims like it was prison time
After five I go from Doctor Jekyll to Mr. Hyde
Spitting lines, writing the illest verse and I'm feeling like
Frankenstein. Finish recording I'm screaming "It's alive!"
It's the mic, I don't know what it does
I just know I lose control if I'm open enough
And the moment I let go, that's the moment I love
Cuz in the day I'm Bruce Banner, when I flow I'm the Hulk
Or a sultan cuz no one can tell me nothing
Never disproving my logic, I'm like a Vulcan
And I be bringing the fire so call me Vulcan
The God not the superfriend, that's just insulting
No token black guy, so dope but not high
No smoking that's why, I don't choke when I rhyme
You gon quote my next lines, I don't hold my breath I
Flow so the track's like, "Oh no it's that guy"
You don't know bout that life
[Chorus]
[Verse 2: Prenda Blaque]
Wait, unna thought that I had put the rap down?
That's like saying that the shooter put the mac down
That's like saying you heard Mayweather back down
Without stepping in the ring to lay the flipping smackdown
That other stuff I dropped, that was like a year old
Now I'm putting something fresher in you ear holes
Ask Johnny, y'all need to be careful
Cuz you could get burned by things, that may appear cold
That's right, the singer slash rapper
Still don't understand why unna acting like trappers
Then get up in the booth biting lines like snappers
Talking bout flossing, must be talking bout plaquers
I have no intentions to kill bad guys
But trust me I'mma make sure that the hills have eyes
Like they just made a wrong turn, I gon make the song burn
But not like Usher, more like Bone Crusher
Somebody tell the kid where the breadwinner at
So I can take this red shell and lick him off of the track
Have him doing 360s and park with a flat
Then I pull up to the scene and put the coins in a sack
Make it heavy enough to throw a shoulder disk
Then call Kendrick and tell him that the gold exists (yea)
I know they wanna get a hold of this
But uh uh bredrin, we taking the whole of this
Prenda
[Chorus: The Matrixx]
[Verse 3: Yung Fusion]
Why merk when I can easily disperse a beat
Burn it to the third degree and serve it in a wordy feast
Slice you with a gun, you would swear that I was germanese
Burning herbal trees, man I'm puffing on that Hercules
So I'm strong in the dome, yes certainly
Clouds in my ozone but vision clear as worth to me
Illest with the rhymes like I grew up in a nursery
Died upon a could and had Jesus spit a verse to me
Skinny nigga rap it up, Thundercats to clap it up
Left ear, right ear, I open heads like apertures
Way above your flow, seven levels to my aqueduct
Thought you were the nicest till I'm at the neck of Dracula (muhahaha)
Hope you good at math because I brought this verse to add it up
And function on that "x" between your eyes, calculus
With the mac, from immaculate
I smack you with the back of it
Just reminding all you wack rappers it ain't happening
Fusion
[Outro: The Matrixx]
Send me any track that you packing and I will merk um
Send me any track that you packing and I will merk-
Sen- Send me any track that you packing and I will merk um
Merk um

[Intro: The Matrixx]
I'm just trying to find the one
[Verse 1]
I need a girl with a voice like Katy B
Got no choice but to love her, the voice is like a dream
You claiming that you hot when you only eighty degrees?
Yo I from Cayman inna, da na nuttin to me
And I mention my dream girl because I gotta tell ya
It's about love, whether music or that someone special
It's missing nowadays because a lot of fellas
Say they love the game but they only want the mozzarella
That's why they spit the cheesiest of verses
Real is from the heart, ain't no way you could rehearse it
Let me demonstrate, send a track and I'mma hearse it
I hope she got curves like she writing cursive
Oops, I'm talking bout my dream girl again
People tell you love like you'll never be hurt again
But I say record, like you'll never be mixed
Then you mix, like you'll never be mastered
You're messing with a master
[Chorus]
And I'm just tryna find the one
And maybe we can fall in love
Cuz I'm just tryna to find the one
Them other numbers ain't enough
[Verse 2]
But in the meanwhile I'll continue to search
Continue to, spend some time with these women and flirt
If you don't believe I'mma bring you to church
With verses like sermons I deliver the word
Might spot her in the crowd when I start performing
A quirky little style with a smile so charming
Like Arden Cho or I'm back on the market
Because I'll never settle, unless it's with my darling
You see these rappers though? They can't commit
So when it's time to put in work that's the time they quit, legit
But when I look back I wonder if
I might be the same way in a relationship
Maybe, but I've committed to give myself the benefit
Of the doubt that's lurking and wishing that I'd let it in
Instead I keep my focus on my mission moving steadily
Cuz when you're on your path is when you tend to get the better things
[Chorus]
[Verse 3]
Sometimes the love and rap games, they both feel like the lotto cuz
All those other numbers, you know I've seen a lot of um
But I can't spot the one
A combination of traits that makes the thought of not being together bothersome
Brains like Hayley Atwell for example
And a way to make me feel like a beat that found a sample
Cuz we in sync like a band, no need to gamble
That party stuff is good but to make music that'll last you'll
Need something substantial
[Chorus]
